Robert Berman
Robert Berman President and Chief Executive Officer, Director

Mr. Berman has experience in a broad variety of areas including finance, acquisitions, marketing, and the development and licensing of emerging technologies. From 2000 to 2008, Mr. Berman was the Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of Acacia Research Corporation, a publicly traded technology development company focused on intellectual property. Mr. Berman has written several articles and has made television and radio appearances discussing the status of cancer diagnostics including FOX News, Forbes, and OncaZine, and has lectured at preeminent educational institutions such as Harvard Law School, UCLA's Anderson School of Business, and USC's Marshall School of Business. Mr. Berman received a B.S. from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, and a J.D. from Northwestern Law School, where he is an adjunct faculty member.

Dr. Amit Kumar, Ph.D
Dr. Amit Kumar, Ph.D Executive Chairman

Dr. Kumar, the inventor of our Cchek™ technology, has been an investor, founder, director and CEO of several technology enterprises, both public and private. As CEO, he took CombiMatrix Corporation public and ran it for a decade while listed on the NASDAQ Global Market. He has worked in venture capital with OAK Investment Partners, and has been an advisor to investment funds, venture capital firms, and Fortune 500 companies. He was on the Board of Directors of Acacia Research Corporation from 2002-2008. Dr. Kumar is currently Vice-Chairman of ITUS Corporation, Executive Chairman of ITUS' wholly-owned subsidiary Anixa Diagnostics, and he sits on the Board of other public and private companies. He received his AB in Chemistry from Occidental College. After graduate studies at Stanford University and Caltech, he received his Ph.D. from Caltech and followed that with a post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard.

Michael Catelani
Michael Catelani Chief Financial Officer

Mike is a seasoned executive with over 25 years of experience in finance, auditing, and operations. Previously, Mike cofounded Tacere Therapeutics, Inc., a privately held biotech company, and served as its Chairman, President & Chief Financial Officer until its sale. Prior to Tacere, Mike served on the Board of Directors and was the Chief Financial Officer of Benitec Biopharma Limited, an Australian Stock Exchange-listed biotech company. Mike was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Axon Instruments, a leading designer and manufacturer of instrumentation and software systems for biotechnology and diagnostics research. Axon was a U.S. corporation publicly traded on the Australian Stock Exchange. Previously, he was the Vice President of Finance for Media Arts Group, Inc., an NYSE-listed company. Mike has also worked with several early-stage start-ups in a variety of industries, including biotechnology, retail, waste water recovery, and distributed power generation, in both advisory and management roles and has served as a contract CFO for a number of established businesses in the biotech field. Mike began his professional career at Ernst & Young and is a CPA. He received his BS degree in business administration, with a concentration in accountancy from Sacramento State University and earned his MBA from the University of California, Davis.

John Roop
John Roop Senior Vice President of Engineering

Mr. Roop has over 20 years of experience as a Silicon Valley design engineer and engineering executive, and 20 years of experience in intellectual property.  Mr. Roop was a co-founder and Sr. Vice President of Engineering at StarSight Telecast, a pioneering developer of electronic program guides.  Mr. Roop was Vice President of Engineering at VSAT Systems, Inc., and Director of Data Communications at Telcom General, both satellite telecommunications systems developers. He received his BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.

Anthony Campisi
Anthony Campisi Vice President of Engineering

Mr. Campisi has been responsible for Research & Development and Intellectual Property at CopyTele Inc. for over 19 years. Prior to his employment with CopyTele, Mr. Campisi was President of Cardinal Microsystems Corp. a company that designed and manufactured the video system for AT&T’s emergency 911 system. Earlier, Mr. Campisi worked as a Principal Design Engineer for Hauppauge Digital Inc. where he developed many PC and multiprocessor Motherboard products. Mr. Campisi was also employed as an ASIC Design Engineer for the New Product Development Group at Standard Microsystems Corp. where he had designed and developed Large Scale Integrated Circuits for both the Video and Local Area Network markets. Anthony Campisi holds a BS in Computer Science from the State University of New York at Stony Brook along with additional graduate studies in both Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
